When we finished our 19-year studies at the university, we wanted to go out into the world and use all our skills together. However, differences in our thinking and life paths divided us and introduced each to a different area of research and development. Several years later we met again together and found that we have the same goals, visions, and opinions now. And this is the reason why we founded Torf Group s.r.o..
We are a team of young engineers with experience from various industries. We entered the market in 2021 as a company. We enjoy the light and we like to turn ideas into real products. The word “it does not work” in our team does not exist.
We are a beginning design office concerning mechanical engineering, science, and technology. We have high ambitions and a desire to work. Our vision is to work on projects that fulfill and entertain us. We do not want to become a large corporate.

Human Centric Lighting Expert
While studying at university, Filip tried several professions in the form of an internship. He worked as a quality engineer, mechanical designer, manager, optician, or researcher. However, the field of optics and lighting design appealed to him the most. In 2018, therefore, he completed his engineering studies with a diploma thesis dealing with the design of a biodynamic healthy luminaire (human centric lighting), which has a positive effect on man and his psyche. His enthusiasm for optics led him to ROBE Lighting s.r.o., where he participated in the design of optical parts of luminaires and their testing. In the field of architectural lighting, Filip also tried out 3D visualizations, designs, and calculations of lighting for architectural objects such as buildings, bridges, or historic buildings. After four years, together with Tomas and Tonda, he decided to go his own way, which enjoys and fulfills him now. According to him, the main prerequisites for a successful business are hard work, perseverance, and Tomas with Tonda. View Filip's profile on Linkedin by clicking on the icon below.

Tomáš studied the production of car lights and technical lighting. During his studies at the university, Tomáš tried many internships and was a member of several projects such as the Formula Student project in the TU Brno Racing team. He participated in the development and production of the monopost Dragon 7. After Tom´s studies, his enthusiasm for innovation brought him to Devinn s.r.o as a fresh mechanical designer. Here he worked on the pre-development of headlights and interior lighting for the Volkswagen Group. He was also involved in the development of additional race lamps for ŠKODA Motorsport. His passion for racing led him to ŠKODA Motorsport, where he worked as a development specialist in the field of aerodynamics and body protection of the ŠKODA Fabie R5 evo competitive car. But his incessant enthusiasm for innovation led him to the path of his own business. He always builds his business on great people, a bunch of enthusiasts, and mutual trust and determination. He likes to spend his free time running or working on the family farm. The Linkedin icon below leads to Tom's profile.

Visionary
Tonda received a bachelor's degree from the Brno University of Technology in 2015 in the field of physical engineering and nanotechnology. He was so absorbed in the field that he continued his studies, where he focused on the development of a new scanning tunneling microscope. He successfully built a prototype microscope that allows him to study surfaces in atomic resolution. During his studies, he also gained a number of work experiences in development teams at companies such as Aura, Activair, and Thermofisher, leading companies in the development of electron microscopes. Since 2017, he is a Ph.D. student of the Central European Institute of Technology CEITEC, where under the leadership of Petr Neugebauer he is developing a new terahertz electron paramagnetic resonance spectrometer working in high fields. In the future, it will be used both for the development of quantum computers and for accelerating medical procedures, such as magnetic resonance imaging. He has also completed a number of internships in leading research teams around the world, such as in the Netherlands, Germany, Scotland, and California. Thanks to this experience, he realized that he was good everywhere, but best at home. Therefore, he would like to push the boundaries of technology, especially here in the Czech Republic.
